Why Beg…??

Begging as defined by the dictionary is the solicitation for money or food..This is the stance by which people who are incapable ask for alms from fellow human beings and thus fill their tummies..I firmly believe that we eat to live rather than live to eat..Thus food is the basic requirement for any human being to survive on the planet..
But don’t you think the job via which you earn your bread and butter should be a dignified one???
I know it that not everyone has a well classified job which pays them a 5 figure salary..But people work hard to go small jobs even and earn their living..
But there is a certain category of people who want to beg and earn their living only..I am ok with people who beg because they are leprosy patients or they are castrated eunuchs..When they beg its moral to pay them up as people don’t want to give them jobs..But when a perfectly able person with all his limbs and every body part intact comes up and asks for alms, I feel it’s very immoral to pay them up..
It so happens that these category of people don’t feel like doing hard work and earning their living..They beg once and they get an addiction for earning their living free of cost without any hard work..I have many a times seen my mom-dad ask these people to come and work for us at our home but they openly refuse to work..Once or twice we even feel that may be because of their family entanglements they don’t want to come up and work at our home but that is not the case always..Many of them have no family attachments and still then they don’t want to work and earn their living..
As my dad has taught me from my childhood that “No job is bad, just that the hard work should be seen”..These people seem to have never put a thought to work hard and earn their living..They are addicted to the free fund meal that they get by begging and enjoy the life without doing any work..These kind of people are the worst kind of human beings possible..When you are capable of earning a livelihood then why beg????

Peepli-----------------------Is it actually and really Live..!?!

This post is not dedicated to the artistic genius of a movie, our Oscar entry this year, a completely insipid, tasteless and un-entertaining movie, Peepli Live!! But my real question is, Is Peepli actually LIVE???
Around 7-8 months back there were reports of some Indian students being beaten up to pulp in a nation way far off from India, Australia..The media hyped the incident to such an extent that we actually are still scared as to whether or not to fly off to the island nation for higher studies..We still are in a shock as to whether even visit Australia..When this incident happened in a foreign nation our country was full in rage as to why we Indians are always the victims of racial discrimination and similar stuff..Why does the feeling of Apartheid resurface itself time and again and show that it had not extinguished but rather was just dormant??Why??That was the question then..But mind you this post is again not about that question..This post is about an incident that occurred in my college premises and I, although not being an eye witness to it, got a vivid description from an eye witness and thus it earned its place to be talked about here..
The incident happened during one of the numerous departmental fests that our college (SRM University) feels proud to host..ICON, a national level MBA symposium..It so happened that for this event there were two prime organizers..One was a Tamil Localite guy and the other a North Indian gal, who we later on came to know was from Bengal..Both final year students..The event got successfully over and the gal was happy to socialize with her friends (both guys and gals) and joined them in posing for photos and enjoying the finishing off of the event in full gala..This pissed off the other Tamil guy and he text messaged the gal and used some abuse language to let her know that she was required for some work, lest enjoy with her friends..The gal ignored the text messages..Then the guy called her up and started abusing her in full flow..The gal heard him speak for some time and then cut the call..This even pissed the guy off to another level..Now the gal went to her friends and told that the other event organizer was bad mouthing her over the phone..So two of her friends, guys, went to report the incident to the staff assigned as the convenor of the event..The convenor gave a limpid glance to the incident and asked the guys to forget it..But the two guys were adamant in making that Tamil guy beg sorry in front of the hapless gal..So they both went ahead to talk to the Tamil guy and told him politely that what he did was wrong and he should not talk to gals using abuses..This infuriated the Tamil guy to such an extent that he said, “You want me to say sorry to her??Let me show you my power..”Saying this he called around 25-30 of his local Tamil friends and started slapping and clubbing the two North Indian guys..The matter had been still ok had this stopped till here..The guys went to the gal and tore off her sari and started slapping and clubbing her too..She was pushed down to the floor and the those Tamil guys continuously kicked her until she went out of her senses..God only knows where all their dirty hands must have fallen over the gal..There were scratch marks all over her body..She had to be immediately rushed to the hospital (Apollo) and the doctors said that she her spinal cord had been injured..
This whole incident happened in front of the faculty and staff..No one, mark my words NO ONE came forward to stop this heinous crime from being committed..When the next day the students of the class revolted and said that they won’t attend classes unless those 25-30 students were rusticated, the college management very calmly shelved the matter..The college management used their political minds to change the whole scenario..They kept two letters in front of the gal..Firstly, if she filed an FIR in the police station then she along with her 2 friends who came ahead to fight, plus those 25-30 students would be rusticated..Secondly, if she didn’t file an FIR then all will remain in the college and no one would be rusticated and the college would give guarantee that those guys would not harass the gal again..HAH..There is a famous saying in Hindi, “Chit bhi mera aur pat bhi mera”..Meaning heads is also mine and tails even..College played its nasty politics and thus all remained silent and the cat didn’t come out of the bag..The media personals that were called up by the students were also sent off with some bribing and the deadly skeleton didn’t come out of the cupboard..The college even went on to the extent of telling that the gal herself was a loose character and the those Tamil guys were drunk so none of her friends should have gone in front of those Tamil guys for asking them to say sorry..College took away the full blame from the heads of those 25-30 guilty..
My question rises here..Why did this incident happen to a North Indian only??I am pretty sure had the guy and gal been swapped the case would not have had occurred only..I mean had the guy been a North Indian and the gal a South Indian, am pretty sure the South Indian people would have created a huge ruckus for the same..There lies my next question..Why is there discrimination between North Indian students and South Indian students??I had heard of similar situations when students from Bihar were beaten up badly on the Victoria Terminus in Mumbai for coming to give some tests that was being conducted by the Maharashtra government..They were beaten up just because they were filling up seats that people from Maharashtra could have filled..There lies my third question..Why is there discrimination among us??There is a dialogue in the movie Khatta-Meetha of Akshay Kumar that says, “Madam if you go to America you’ll get Americans, if you go to England you’ll get Britisher’s, but if you come to India you’ll get only Punjabi’s, Marathi’s, Guajarati’s, Tamil’s, Bengali’s and so on..Where is Indians??”
Why do the media only hype racial discrimination incidents which happen in foreign nations??Why only do we get to hear about racial discrimination of Indian students in Australia or Shilpa Shetty in Bigg Boss??Why can’t we forget about this state wise discrimination and start thinking ourselves as INDIANS???

The Dumb are not Deaf..!!

All those thinking that this post is about the mentally dumb people are actually dumb enough to keep thinking that there is only a single meaning to the term dumb i.e. “slow to learn and adapt” and in common Hindi “MAND-BUDDHI”..When I was a little child and I first learnt this word, it had a totally different meaning than what we generally use it for now-a-days..Dumb is referred to a person who actually is unable to speak and its counterpart in the hearing zone is known as deaf..
So this summer when I went back home for my summer vacations I had some problems with the water pump used in my house and thus it had to be replaced by a new one, Submersible CRI pumps, which is supposedly the best in the market now..So for getting this job done my dad hired a good plumber..He had many workers under him..Among them there was a guy may be in his early thirties who was dumb..Dumb as in the real sense of the word..He could not speak..
(I may be dumb but am sure not deaf!!)
All his co workers were addressing him and calling out to him by actions and not by words..The used to talk to him in gestures..They used to talk to him in sign language..That is when it struck my mind that he only is dumb and not deaf..So why the heck do people talk to him in sign language..WHY??I was the one who started talking to him normally and he even responded normally by his actions..Although he could not reply by an answer but he used to do whatever work I asked him to do on one go..
That was the time when all his co-workers realized this fact too..From hence forth they also stopped talking to him in sign language and started giving him instructions verbally..This even reduced the ruckus that was going on during the work to a great extent as now there was no communication gap between the workers..
So it is my humble request to who-so-ever is reading this post that please do not categorize all dumb people as deaf too..They can hear very well and they do actually feel deprived and left off if they are not paid their due attention..
So the DUMB are not DEAF!!

Why only Sur??Why not Bagchi as well??

Before you start making any guesses I would want to clear it out that Bagchi was my mom’s surname prior to marriage..But after she got married to my dad, her surname got changed to Sur!!Thus my name came out to be Prateek Sur..This happened way back in 1988, but we’ve grown into the 21st century, don’t you think it’s time enough for us to start acknowledging the surname of the maternal side of the family too..I think so..When I see Indians like Konkona Sen Sharma who wantonly keep their surnames from both sides of the family, it seems that we are coming forward..But is it enough??How far have we come??I still think hers may be one exception..Don’t you think it’s time now to start coming forward and giving the maternal side of the family their due respect??
Blame it on the British..When India names its children, the mother’s side of the family is all but forgotten..The children are given the father’s surname..It seems like an antiquated practise today, when inter-caste, inter-regional or inter-religious marriages are on the rise and women sometimes find themselves cast as single mothers, raising children all by themselves..
But why blame the British??Till their advent, most people dint find their surnames in their caste..When the British colonial administration began documenting land ownership and birth records, it followed the British custom of giving children their father’s surname..This remains common practise in most of the English speaking world..
In the US, notably, only a few traditional families use their mother’s maiden name as the child’s middle name..That’s how Franklin Delano Roosevelt, America’s 32nd president, got his middle name..
In Europe and America, few women change their names after they marry, so it makes profound legal sense for children to have two surnames..In India motherhood may be celebrated but appears to have little value when it comes to legal and government records..Isn’t it time we changed??Yes, Mr M.Varaprasad, Andhra Pradesh’s education minister indicated this week when he denounced “our old system (of insisting the) father’s name be included in the certificates..Why not mother??This is very unfortunate..This is very discriminatory..”His comments are significant in the very week that the southern state started to offer the option of mentioning either parent’s name on the child’s school admission form..
As campaigners for women’s rights pick a fight with India’s naming system, it might be useful to look at Europe and America..In Spain and Spanish speaking countries in the Americas, children have two surnames—the first from the father and the second from the mother..Painter Pablo Ruiz Picasso used his maternal surname, Picasso, as his signature..
Isn’t it time we stopped the practise of using the surname of just one parent??How about hyphenated surnames, consisting of the last names of both mother and father, in whatever order..It would legalize Indian motherhood..
So what’s in a name??A lot, if it’s your mother’s..Isn’t it??

Colour me Pink..!!

Pink may be one of the most beautiful colours on earth, but we are guilty of having giving it the short shrift..This fascinating colour has been studiously ignored for several years by diverse groups including intellectuals, sports persons and politicians..Apart from strawberry ice cream, a couple of esoteric financial newspapers, and Rohit Bal’s ramp designs, we see very little pink in the adult world around us..The Congress, BJP and the Left may have differing views on many subjects, but if we request them to introduce a dash of pink into their party’s colours, they will all uniformly see red..I have rarely seen a pink car on our streets, and not a single bottled drink or toothpaste I know of is even remotely pink..Even the sole telecom brand that sported pink colours quickly changed it to red..Why has humanity ignored pink??
The reason is a set of deeply held irresponsible prejudices against pink, shrouded in obscure screams of ignorance..Men believe pink is utterly feminine, sophisticated women say pink is ‘Jhatak’ and boorish, men and women whisper and chuckle together that pink is gay, and gays feel that pink is so childish and so overdone..Therefore, only newborn girls are given pink frocks in maternity wards, and even these are quickly replaced by white or pale yellow ones when the babies reach home..
But pause a moment and you’ll see so much around us that is beautiful, cherished and naturally pink..New born babies are generally pinkish, and their bottoms are certainly bright pink..Young elephant calves sport a beautiful shade of pink, and the choicest ham is deliciously pink..Pink roses are highly treasured, and pink jacarandas make many a cities come to life every summer..Pink Norwegian salmon is the ultimate sea food indulgence, and pink champagne is much sought after in elite parties..Pink sandstone and marble are highly coveted and look wonderful in opulent palaces they adorn..
Indeed nature is partial to pink because it is such a refreshing colour..That is why the farthest and the most exotic stars in the night sky appear pink, whereas the nearby dog stars are plain white..That is also why pink diamonds are so rare, expensive and cherished that I’m yet to see or receive one in real life..
Nature is not the only entity to pay respect to the colour pink..My roomie’s all time favourite music group chose to call themselves Pink Floyd..Imagine if they had chosen an alternate name, say Green Floyd or Red Floyd..They would simply not have been the same, because like the haunting music there is something distinctly psychedelic about pink..Pink is never deadly serious in its intent, it always nicely mingles sober stuff with innocent fun..Which is why one of the most entertaining detective movie of all time go by the name Pink Panther..And which is also why pink chaddis were sent to the misguided but energetic Mr. Muthalic for his anti-valentine’s campaign last year..
It is therefore quite gratifying to see that IPL and cricket are now leading the cause of pink..Lalit Modi sports bright pink neckties, perhaps because he himself hails from the pink city of Jaipur..The colourful Navjot Sidhu has begun wearing pink turbans during his delightful commentaries on the game.. IPL cheerleaders, bless their bounce, have been wearing pink tails and shaking pink fluffy stuff in both their hands as they celebrate the lusty sixers, and the lusty crowd in turn cheers them on..Unconfirmed reports indicate that one of the two new IPL teams, Pune and Kochi, may choose to sport the colour pink for their dress..And in a milestone announcement recently, it has been revealed that IPL will actually be using pink cricket balls starting next year..Now, that is a path breaking new pink initiative worth raising a toast to-with pink champagne, of course..!!

Its nature's own child; so why are we prejudiced against this shade??

Aa..Aa..Aa..Aachooooooooooooooooooooo..!!

This is not a very difficult sound to perceive..Yeah, u’ll got it correct..It’s THE sneeze..When ur ear drums r conked wit this sound from someone in the surrounding, u start feeling that IT is coming..And when u feel this coming through ur oesophagus and wind pipe u know IT has entered u now and more precisely, ur Doomed..
It is said that having cough and cold once a year is a good thing..It actually clears our whole system of the dust and dirt that has entered into it for the past 52 weeks..But I say “Bull Shit”..How many of u buy this??Believe me, it does more harm than curing it..Added to it comes the personal troubles and the embarrassment..
Let me tell u some benefits that u have when ur inflicted upon by this divine cleaning gesture from god..Firstly, ur nose keeps on dripping all the time..Secondly, u’ll cough so frequently that even a TB patient will think that u r good competition..Thirdly, u’ll need to run to the bathroom or the sanitary basin every 10 minutes to clean off ur dripping nose or cast off ur cough..Fourthly, ur whole body will pain like hell..Fifthly, ur head and chest will be full of cough and thus will keep troubling wit aches all the day..Sixthly, u’ll find it difficult to even laugh..Seventhly, u’ll lose the urge to eat..Eighthly, the taste of ur mouth will become sour and even if u eat a jalebi u’ll not feel it tasty..Finally, u’ll feel more thirsty than a crow in a desert and this will be more prominent when u wake up in the middle of the nit and find ur throat as dry as a bone..All in all u’ll be doomed or rather ill-fated..
Now some more added benefits which will help u love this providential intervention even more..Whenever u r running off to the bathroom with a dripping nose u can’t stop even to wave a ‘Hi’ to a friend coming from the opposite direction..Supposing he has something important to say to u and u do stop by to take the message u’ll keep ur head stooped down so that he may not notice ur dripping nose as it is pretty obscene on his part..Moreover while making conversation u can’t draw in (breathe in tough) ur dripping nose..Doing this, as well, sounds very absurd and sickening to the person listening to the conversation..On top u’ll dirty off all ur kerchief’s to ur dripping nose..Now u’ve only two options either wash them thoroughly or discard them..I prefer the 2nd option..
Having cough and cold once a year is as inevitable as death and as shameless as a nude statue..It is as obstinate as a mule and not just as dangerous as a machine gun (rather even more dangerous..!!)..Oh Lord, am as restless as ambition for it to get over, as it is turning me as sleepless as an owl..Please don’t make it as lawful as eating and as essential as dew..Rather make it as lawless as the stormy wind..And for heaven’s sake, don’t make it as lasting as the pyramids..
It’s been three long (long long long......) weeks since I’ve been having cold..I hate it..I don’t need a cleaning of my internal system..Come on Jesus, if u don’t listen to my prayers, at least read my blog!!

Y should Husband’s have all the fun??

Yesterday nit I was viewing SRK’s Swades, dunno maybe for the 50th time or so, when something struck me and what better place to discuss it than here..The scene was when Geeta was seeing her prospective groom and she refused to marry him because he wanted her to shift to his hometown and also leave her job as a school teacher..The reason that the groom gave was “no girl in their family ever goes out to earn”..That is so so lame..!!
Marriage changes everything..Especially careers, as most women know too well..Far better than men..Anita Tandon, an IT professional in Bangalore, knew that marrying Ahmadabad dentist Harsh Chaddha, might be a career-ruining decision..The couple might have lived in different cities after the wedding in order to pursue their career, but Anita was not comfortable with that idea..Luckily the partner who had to change cities, was not Anita..
Men like Harsh, who moved to Bangalore to be with Anita, r the exception, not the rule..Most women r not as fortunate as Anita..Thousands of women unquestioningly give up their careers to be with their husbands..It is not abnormal to find a woman leaving a lucrative and good job, to move to a new city and look for ‘substantial’ work from scratch..It can take months to adjust to the new place; even longer to adjust to a new job..And there is no guarantee she will find a job commensurate with her qualifications..
Y cant it be different??It is essential to live together as man and wife..Y isn’t it a possibility for the woman to hold onto the good job, with her husband moving to her city??
It has always been taken for granted that a woman’s career is less important than the man’s, that she will never be the breadwinner and consequently, may or may not pursue a career after she marries..The woman’s income is considered no more than a fringe benefit to be tacked onto her husband’s pay packet..But the recent recession underlined the advantages of belonging to a double income family..Many men lost their jobs at short notice and it was the ‘fringe benefit’ of the wife’s salary that kept things going..
It is time society realized that modern families don’t really have a single breadwinner any more..And that a woman has as much right to ask her prospective husband to move down the career path she follows..
Equally it should not be considered “bad” if a man earns less than his wife and does more house work than her..
This is supposed to be the age of equality and reason and marriage should no longer be defined by age old notions of gender roles..A woman’s career is as important as that of a man..Whipping up new dishes and raising children cannot be regarded as her sole responsibility..But it is not men alone who have to change their mindset about marriage..Women must do so too..

Unconditional love..Does it exist??

Can’t stop thinking abt this topic ever since I was given this topic yesterday in a group discussion session..Wat is this thing??Unconditional love..And on top of it does it really exist in real life??
So lemme start by trying to analyze wat luv is!!Luv is some feeling that u feel for someone irrespective of the fact that who he/she is..It may be ur parents, ur guardians, ur friendz, ur partner or anyone else..Luv is always the same, only the feeling is something that differs..U will hav the same amount of luv for ur parents and for ur partner..But the feeling will be different..I bet it will be an unanswerable ques if I ask u as to whom u luv more!!It’s too tough to decide as u cant luv either one lesser..So it’s better to conclude that ur luv will be in same proportions just that the feeling will change wit its perspective..Luv is one of the most simplest of words but to really understand the meaning of it and follow it is tougher than mayb crossing the Alps..Luv is a word for which anyone will do anything irrespective of the implications or consequences..U’ll do it just for those two eyes whom u would neva want to make weep..
Now let’s try and analyze the word unconditional..Unconditional as defined by the dictionary means without any reservations..Without any ‘conditions apply’ written at the bottom wit a miniscule asterisk mark at the top right corner..Without any bounds..Without any limits..Without any specifications..Without any terms..Without any categories..Without any fences..
Now wen we bring together these two words does the meaning really exist??Unconditional luv..It is that luv which u feel for someone irrespective of the whole world..It is that luv that is not stopped by any legal, social, ethical, moral or arbitrary entailments..It may be found in anyone..But had it been found in all humanity then the question ‘Does it exist?’ would not have had come up..It does not exist for all humanity..But But But it does exist for family..Doesn’t it??Unconditional luv is that luv in which u only tend to give, give and only give..U neva expect anything in return..It is this unconditional luv that u feel wen u do some mischief and come back home and u know at the back of ur mind that ‘mom-dad sambhal lenge!!’..It is this unconditional luv that u feel wen u hav a huge loss at ur office and u come back home in the evening and there r some people waiting at the door wit open arms to hug and welcome u..Their luv for u does not cease in any manners or proportions..They will luv u irrespective of whether u make profit or loss at work..They’ll luv u irrespective of the fact that while playing u broke someone’s window pane wit the cricket ball..They’ll manage it..Although they will scold a bit or mayb lambaste in some cases but at the end they’ll finally be on ur side itself..After all, people who scold us r the ones who luv us deeply..Or should I say that people who luv us only hav the right to scold us..Even the son of some criminal will always luv his father/mother irrespective of the fact that he/she mayb a state convict..That’s unconditional luv..And vice versa the parent will also luv his son like any normal father/mother would do and try to give him all the happiness’ of the world..
This unconditional luv also exists in ones partner..Wen a guy gets married to a gal they both hav (read: should hav) this unconditional luv for each other..According to me this unconditional luv is the basic requirement for turning into a couple from being single..The guy knows that after a tough day at office wen he comes back home there will be someone at home who’ll give him a big bear hug and kiss off all his worries and tensions..Vice versa the gal knows that wen she faces the most painful pain during child birth there’ll be at least one person who’ll be there holding her hand and telling her that aall izz well..That’s unconditional luv..
There mayb people like my group discussion conductor, my PD (personality development) teacher, who believe that we should widen our horizon and think of it as a global phenomenon..But I protest..Because wen u hav ur family wit u who cares abt the world..For example if in the future I get married to a gal of some other religion or caste or creed, it would at all not matter me wat the whole world thinks..I would hardly care if some mukherji sahib or some chowdhry babu foul mouths me in front of his family..Wat will matter is wat my parents think..Wat they think will be the only thing that will matter to me..It is this unconditional luv that we and our parents experience and exhibit for each other..I feel pity on people like my PD teacher who try searching for this unconditional luv in the whole world rather than searching for it in their own homes..So before u go out searching for this unconditional luv in outsiders, just for once try seeking for it in insiders..People inside ur house..

So does anyone, still, hav a doubt as to whether or not this unconditional luv exists???

National Sport: who cares!!.............BUT............Religion: humongous hullabaloo..!!

Its official..India is out of the world cup..
Does this bang in ur ears like the shrill breaking of bangles??I know it does but it won’t any more wen I say that I’m talking abt the hockey world cup..That ‘thank god’ expression on ur face tells me how relieved u r on listening that it’s not the cricket world cup that I’m talking abt..
Come on people wake up!!Its hockey that I’m talking abt...Hav u all forgotten that cricket is not the national sport of our country..Its hockey!!
Accha tell me how many of u did seriously keep a track of the hockey world cup??I can bet that 80% of u’ll reading here dint even know abt the world cup..Can any one of u name the captain of the hockey team without searching for it on Google or Bing??NO...People don’t even know that it ws held in our country this year..At New Delhi..It’s a sorry state of affairs in our country and WE r only responsible for it..
We don’t live in the country of Harry Potter but we surely share our country wit the “hockey wizard”..The great Dhyan Chand..The person who used to dribble the ball past all the others present on the field and hit the ball straight into the goal..It ws said that the whole hockey fraternity on one side and Dhyan chand on the other, still then he would win wit a great margin..That ws his class..That ws his genre..That ws the respect he had earned..But where is all that gone??
India finished off 8th in the world cup this time..It ws a far better performance than wat we had in the last world cup..We surely r recovering but I still pity on the condition of our national sport..A country from which the whole hockey world used to be terrified has been left to jst a pass-by..We ruled the sport for decades..But no longer now..All that pomp and show is gone..All that glory has been diminished to dust..
Wat do u think is the reason for this??Y has this sport degraded in itself??And y hav we got ourselves adapted to this??The primary reason for this is the turning away of the sport from its original format to a new format..The game which ws previously played at fields is now played only on Astroturf..Astroturf has this special ability of letting the ball move very fast..The ball moves at a tremendous speed in Astroturf..We Indians r still very gud at the dribbling and all stuff but the sport has moved to new heights..More than the skills now wat matters is the strength and stamina that u put into the sport, the speed wit which we run after the ball and also run along wit it..We do accept the fact that we Indians r not that fit as the other International teams..But for how long can we give this excuse!!It’s been 30 long years since this Astroturf has been introduced into the sport..Is not that a pretty long time to get used to it??
On the other hand during that time only India had won the Cricket world cup and we from then started being more and more into cricket and forgetting our national sport..Even in Cricket y r we not able to hold onto the no.1 position for long??Wen the OZ had the tag, they dint hav anything to fear..They were not at all bothered whether someone in some other part of the world wins or loses a game and that may affect their no.1 position..They were way ahead of the others on the points table..Then y is it so wen we come to the zenith??In all the other countries that hav been no.1, cricket is not their first sport..For the Aussies Rugby is the first sport, then comes cricket..For the West Indians Basketball is their first sport, then comes cricket..Even for the British Football is their first sport, then comes cricket..But but but for us Indians Cricket is first and Cricket is only second..That’s y we wobble and fumble in Cricket as well..So if we’ve hockey as our first sport then we will even excel in cricket at a far more faster pace than wat we’r doing now..And on top we won’t even be afraid of losing our no.1 spot..Thus we’ll be able to hold on to our no.1 spot wit much more ado..!!
Let us face it..How many of us will allow our off springs to go to a hockey field rather than going onto a cricket field??That Poppysmic expression on ur face tells me that it’s a big NO...It’s not jst u..Even it applies for me..We don’t hav more than two Astroturf fields in one state..But for cricket we jst need a ball and a bat..That’s all we need for it..We give a damn abt how much space we’re getting..That’s the reason..
So I opine that the government should put in more funds in this sport..We need more grounds for hockey..We want to tell our future generation that along wit cricket the world also fears us in hockey..We should be able to tell our kids that we live in the country of the Hockey Wizard..Along wit cricket, sponsor’s should come forward for this sport as well..Along wit MSDhoni we also want to see Prabhjot Singh in the advertisements..And likewise..Unless and until this sport gets funds this sport will remain a ramshackle..Not jst that WE as the viewers should also come forward and support the sport..Like Cricket matches we should also step to the fore in gr8 numbers for seeing Hockey matches..Even the government should take steps so that Hockey jst doesn’t stay as the national sport only in our general knowledge books..It should also be in our hearts and then we would also be able to boast to our friends in the fairer countries that we don’t jst hav one sport that we hoot for..We hav two religions, Hockey and Cricket..!!
So Cricket is Religion but isn’t Hockey our National Sport???

IS GOD DEAD??

The prima-facie answer to the above ques can be two: YES or NO..All those who say NO I jst hav one ques to ask u, “if he’s not dead then where is he??”..And all those who say YES one ques for u too, “where was he wen he ws alive??”
According to us, Christians, God created everything on this earth..Every possible living thing..!!Whether it’s us humans or animals or plants or anything else..Whereas we, Hindus, believe that god dint create this world..God jst manifested himself in all living creatures..Hindus believe that God is present inside all living beings..
Whether HE is or HE is not does not matter as much as there’s something that matters more and that is our BELIEF..It all depends on wat we believe in ourselves..Many of my friends hav stated examples in front of me which were compellingly belief worthy that HE does exist..
A friend of mine once said that wen he ws in 10 std he ws in utter need of some computer softwares lyk JAVA, C++ and all..He ws not getting them in any market..So he ws pretty worried and kept praying to God that HE helped him..POP!!wat happens next made me dumbstruck..Next morning wen he woke up and ws walking in his garden he jst saw a disc half dug into the ground..He took it out and to his sheer shock the disc ws completely scratch free and wen he inserted it in his disc drive and played it wat he sees is that all the softwares that he needed were present in that disc..!!Wat would u call this??..Sheer luck or some sort of co-incidence or some divine intervention?? It’s difficult to answer this one as who believes in God will firmly say that it had the “Hand of God” whereas other atheists would say that ws a mere case of co-incidence..
On the other hand another friend of mine once told me that he has been asking for some favour from God for the past 3-4 years but he has not got even an inch of favour from HIM..So he is slowly turning on from a theist into an atheist..I know all firm believers of God will say that he should wait and watch later on there will be some help from HIM..HE may be late but HE won’t leave him in abject darkness..Some rationalists will turn up to quote the old adage “God helps those who help themselves!!”..But whatever the case is he is losing his faith in God..
I really am in a fix as to whom to believe as I really am not that much into religion and God..I am a Hindu but hav been to a church all my lyf as a church ws nearer to my house than a temple..Even at school the church ws nearer to me than any temple in the region..So I am more prolific in the Christian rituals, festivals and the myths than the Hindu counterpart..My friends do jeer at me wen I don’t call Ganesh as Ganeshji or Shiv as Shivji or Ram as Ramji..Or wen I don’t know at all abt at the hymns and prayers that they do..But I don’t hav any complaints as I would neva call them by adding an extra ji in their name as I firmly believe that they were born as humans and they did earn this much respect here on earth, at least,  that they can be called by their names..
Wat I wanna infer is that all that matters is wat is inside u..Wat u’ve been susceptible to right from ur childhood..If ur a gud parent ur child will grow up gud and if ur not then they’ll also turn up bad..People keep tellin that television is spoiling the kids now-a-days..But know wat children learn far more easily from wat they see at home from their parents rather than anyone else on the idiot box..
God cannot tell us to be gud or bad..It’s all within us..Even a very gud human may be an atheist and a very bad human can be a staunch believer of God..Even Osama bin Laden routinely offers namaz 5 times a day..Which shows that he is a strict believer of God..But the acts and deeds that he does don’t proclaims to be so..
So my final ques still remains unanswered as to whether God is actually there or has he jst turned a deaf ear to all the things happening on earth or has he become lyk us Indians..Adaptable to all situations..Or better still lyk many theists would say “God knows that we humans (his creations, so HE can’t be wrong!!) r capable enough of handling the situations..”

So, “IS GOD DEAD???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????”

AN UNBORN FOETUS: DAD-MOM, Y SHOULD I BE BORN IN INDIA??

Present day India’s most raging topic is d one that strikes my mind today.. This topic is very common and many would have thought abt it but scarcely would ne1 talk abt it..so I thought y not me!!
If we check out ne newspaper or surf the net d obvious answer to this ques would be stated as CORRUPTION,CHILD LABOUR,DOWRY SYSTEM,POVERTY,ILLITERACY,UNEMPLOYMENT and so on..but as far as I think d root cause of all these afore mentioned things is nothing but our ever increasing POPULATION..its not jst increasin population..the demographic survey says POPULATION EXPLOSION..ya thats d term..Explosion..our population is not jst increasin its exploding..and that too at an alarming rate..
Know wat, all these earlier mentioned epithets for our problems r intertwined wit each other nd the startin point is d population..this enormous population is causing a lack of vacancies in d job market..which leads to unemployment of d masses..this leads to people remainin in poor nd shabby conditions..which leads to poverty..livin in such dingy conditions people r unable to give their children proper education..leave aside “proper”, they r unable to give their off springs ne sort of education..which leads to them remaining illiterate..thus adding to d ever increasin illiteracy rate..this again leads to the same cycle of unemployment then poverty nd then finally illiteracy..
Know wat, I’ve even tried discussing this wit my pals bt scarcely does ne1 wanna discuss this..every1 says that wats d use of discussing this..there’s no final answer to this..they keep tellin me that d government is very lazy nd they r at all not interested in d problems MY country is facing..bt to tell d truth who is d government?? “WE ARE”..it’s we the people of d country..Democracy has been very well defined by d late 16th president of d United States as “of the people, by the people and for the people”..
Lets face it..how many of us would hav ever thought of even for a miniscule second that we would grow up to be a politician??that slight grin on ur face tells me that none of u would hav thought of it..not only u..even I hav neva thought of it..it’s pretty common..even now as well, all of u would be thinkin that who’s gonna enter into this mud pool of politics!!this as well applies to me too..bt to face the truth if we ourselves don’t do it no one else would..no one ever cleans their neighbours’ house..so it has to be us only who hav to dive heart n soul into this dirty pond nd bring out from it OUR country..
I know that d government is takin steps to control this population bt only askin people to use a condom or take contraceptives will do very lil benefit..in  my opinion there r two ways to solve this..either go the IRAQ way or go the CHINA way..
IRAQ way as in make 100 people stand at one place nd shoot them off jst lyk d dogmatic Saddam Hussein did..this is practically not applicable in our country..
CHINA way as in seize d population growth..they hav decided to not increase their population by even 5% till 2020..they r rewarding people wit monetary benefits..esp d fairer sex..if they r able to control their off spring number to jst one..even d men r awarded wit let offs..
Even in our country we can implement this policy..it is said that in our country d birth rate is thrice that of the death rate..it is believed that by 2050 these two would become equal..who knows till then whether we’ll survive or not..so I badly hope that this equalizes way before 2050 so that wen our off springs r in their mother’s womb they don’t hav a complaint that dad mom i don’t wanna come out into THIS country..this should not be d prayer of an unborn child..!!d day WE THE PEOPLE will be able to do this, that day MY country will become a much better haven to dwell in nd an absolute heaven on earth where our unborn children would beg to get born..
